But amidst the scandalous excitement of opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and all that jazz. These three-week theatre intensives culminate in a 60-minute JR musical, with three performances for each session. Something Rotten JR is a lottery sign-up opportunity.

  • Pippin - Audition Only Intensive (completed 8th-12th):

With an infectiously unforgettable score from four-time Grammy winner, three-time Oscar winner and musical theatre giant, Stephen Schwartz, Pippin is the story of one young man's journey to be extraordinary. Winner of four 2013 Tony Awards including Best Musical Revival, this updated circus-inspired version of Pippin continues to captivate and appeal to the young at heart throughout the world. Heir to the Frankish throne, the young prince Pippin is in search of the secret to true happiness and fulfillment. He seeks it in the glories of the battlefield, the temptations of the flesh and the intrigues of political power (after disposing of his father, King Charlemagne the Great). In the end, though, Pippin finds that happiness lies not in extraordinary endeavors, but rather in the unextraordinary moments that happen every day.

This three-week theatre all-day intensive culminates in a full length musical with four performances. Please note: this opportunity is audition only. The cast will be up to 25 actors. A full character list can be found here.

After MTC’s first incredible offsite production last summer, Into the Woods, we look forward to its return! The first two weeks of rehearsal will be held at MTC. The last week and performances of Pippin will take place at the Little Theatre within Hopkins High School.

Auditions are January 25th and Callbacks are January 28th.

    M-F July 28-August 15, 8:30am-4pm

    Performances (4): August 15 @ 7pm, August 16 @ 1pm & 7pm and August 17 @ 2pm

Tuition: $735 (Need-based partial and full scholarships available. Please inquire for an application.)
